Framingapprenticeship
Every part of the trade, from customer consultation and design through production to installing the finished artwork — a nationally recognised Certificate III, assessed at your own bench, on the framing you're already turning out for customers.
Trained at your bench
The Certificate III in Picture Framing is the trade qualification for picture framers. You stay at work and keep earning: your RTA assessor comes to your workplace, the theory is done online, and you finish with a nationally recognised qualification.
Every part of the frame
Cut and join
Measure, cut mouldings to length and join them square and tight.
Mats and glazing
Cut and decorate mat boards, and cut and handle glass and acrylic safely.
Mount and assemble
Mount artwork and textiles and assemble basic and complex artwork packages.
Customers and installs
Assess what a customer needs, design the framing to suit, de-frame and repair, and install the finished work.
What you'll cover
Every apprentice completes the fourteen core units. The list below is RTA's standard set; one unit is your choice — organising your work priorities, or digital printing for shops that print their own artwork.
